26th Feb 2014, 4:12 AM ...Forgot to mention...

...issue #12 is the first anniversary of The Ill, and what fun it shall be! We will learn a bit more history, meet a number of guest stars, major heroes of Universe Designate-Eleven! Big fights, Mister Frigid (what?), and PHAEDRA AND THE TEEN CIPHER!!!

And it's as free as the birds that roam the sky.

26th Feb 2014, 3:58 AM The Ill # 10! YEAH!!!

It's good to see this thing come together, to actually be doing it and getting great feedback. It makes it worthwhile. I could probably advertise a bit more, and I will...but in the meantime I am dedicated to giving you readers something new to look forward to each month, and hopefully gain even more readers. I remember the things I loved about reading Swamp Thing, Spider Man, The Avengers, The Authority...the characters, the settings, their conflicts. I want to capture that magic--literaly--and infuse The Ill with it. And it IS magic--the stories have been told, all the words used before, but it's all in how its applied by the creator. Spells are being woven, and not just by Jinn or the late Blackheart Man.

Coming up: Next issue we get Phaedra's origin and the identity of the third survivor of Tass-Vatai. We see a city broken, devastated. We learn something new about the Naked Weapon. We learn of young Kid Flame's favorite adventure, and we spend time with the cold, dead, stiffening corpse of Millie De Vries (but she is oblivious to us). And the final page will be fun and set us up for the inevitable future.

Hope to see you back, and maybe bring a friend or two who wants something new and fun to read, they might like it...hopefully YOU'LL like what's in store.

27th Jan 2014, 3:14 AM Changes and improvements...

I thank all of you who have commented, your words are encouraging! I LOVE that you're enjoying the story, in spite of some of the somewhat iffy art.  The truth is I hate drawing, and it shows--I rushed through the first few issues. My apologies. As I've gotten deeper in, I've taken my time more but there is still room for vast improvement--and you will see this in the coming months, especially in the next arc, 'The Five Corners Of The World' (issues 13-17). This arc will take on us on a tour of the world--a world of superheroes, the supernatural, and super-science. I will have to draw some STRANGE things, as we visit some interesting locations, and I want it to look awesome. I promise to have each issue uploaded the 15th of every month, so I don't see myself getting off-schedule. Just expect to be a bit more satisfied with the look of the book in the months to come.

Again, thanks for enjoying the book and expressing it. Sorry there was no Inferno at all this issue, but you'll get a good dose of him next month, along with our favorite German fighter-clone...and we'll get a look at some of the other villains who plague the Ill world (and an in-depth look at them in The Ill #16, as we visit The Dregs, the gritty area of Freemantle that is home to Oneman)!

Stay fresh, people.

14th Jan 2014, 3:37 AM The Ill #9...

...Yeah, so no Inferno this issue...don't worry, you'll get plenty of him next month, and some solo Inferno action in certain future issues. And we'll get around to Millie next issue, also--but that doesn't mean she'll be returning to our cast (hint, hint). I've enjoyed this storyarc, and its importance will become more apparent as we get deeper into the series. The next storyarc is even crazier...I've introduced you to the heroes ('Peace On One Earth), the villains (The Some Like It Hot Foundation)...and in our next arc, beginning in The Ill #13, we will explore the world itself in The Five Corners Of The World!

More on that soon...thanks for coming back, I only wish you'd comment, friend.

11th Dec 2013, 1:57 AM And so it goes..

Hope you're digging The Ill #8, it's one of my favorite issues so far. There's bits and pieces here and there that will play out into MUCH bigger things in upcoming issues, as we make our way to The Ill #31. I've been toying around with adding a 'who's who' page or two after every issue, just some quick background info on some of the heroes and villains we've met so far...the first couple will probably be Knife Master and maybe Truegod. We'll get Phaedra's full origin in the very near future, and we'll learn of Oneman's dead protege, Solitaire. Oneman himself will play a MAJOR role in upcoming events...I will say no more, I'm getting ahead of myself.

Hopefully you'll return next issue for part 3 of the 'The Some Like It Hot Foundation' arc...after this, we'll take a breather for a couple issues and then embark on a journey to The Five Corners Of The World! And what comic-booky fun it will be!

Happy Festivus!
